The Central African Republic is the only country where all four African pangolin species are found. These gentle mammals, often called “scaly anteaters,” are covered in distinctive keratin scales and are tragically the most trafficked mammals in the world.
Pangolins curl into a ball when threatened — a defense that protects them from natural predators, but tragically makes them easy targets for poachers. Tens of thousands are poached annually for their meat and scales used in traditional medicine.
This plush pangolin is a tribute to their uniqueness and vulnerability. Each one is:
- Hand-sewn using 100% recycled cotton wax fabric
- Stuffed with recycled foam
- One of a kind — no two pangolins are the same
Perfect as a decorative piece or soft toy, with a story that raises awareness.
